Meet the Team

Established in 2019,  Zaawiya UK  is governed by a Trust Deed and is registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (Charity Registration Number: 1187131). Currently we have two trustees and one advisor managing the charity’s finances and ensuring Zaawiya operates within the requirements of UK charity law. All are unpaid volunteers.

Naeem Azam

BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Systems & Business Studies, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Change Management Practitioner, Chairman of Sidq Foundation, Naeem uses his vast experience in the charity sector to assist Zaawiya.
Naeem is an IT professional with 20 years’ experience in the IT sector. He started his career working for a number of investment banks in London. He also spent a few years working for a petroleum company in Saudi Arabia before returning to the UK. For the last 15 years he has performed a number of varied roles at Atos IT Services. Aveva, Chaucer, Petroleum Development Oman with a focus on Process Improvement and Continuous Improvement. 

Waqar Ahmed

Waqar is an engineer by profession. He graduated from UET Lahore, Pakistan in 1996 in the field of electronics and communications. Waqar works for Schlumberger in London as Marketing & Sales Director (UK and Europe). He has over 20 years of technical and management experience in the Energy industry. 

Farrukh Sand

BSc Electrical Engineering (UET Lahore, Pakistan), MSc Telecommunications (University of London, UK), PRINCE2 Practitioner
Farrukh is an accomplished telecoms professional with a track record of successfully delivering consultancy and project management expertise on global projects. In addition to his current role of Senior Project Manager at BT plc (UK), he also takes a keen interest in leveraging his skills to assist charitable organisations deliver intended objectives efficiently
